Effect of External Magnetic Field on the Forming, Microstructure and Property of TC4 Titanium Alloy during the Directed Energy Deposition Arc Additive Manufacturing

In this work, the thin wall components of TC4 titanium alloy were produced by using external magnetic field hybrid gas metal welding (EM-GMAW). The effect on forming, microstructure, and property wire arc additively manufactured was studied in detail. results showed that height average deposition layer EM-GMAW less than GMAW decreased with increase excitation current, width greater GMAW. microstructure consisted fine ? phase coarse ? grains. Compared traditional GMAW, grain size reduced obviously. maximum 100?m when current 3A used. addition, tensile strength transverse horizontal increased around 20 MPa 100 MPa, respectively, compared
